Diet is key, Ive had a hard time behaving myself but slowly getting the hang of it.  :onfire: nondisclosed_email@example.com (jscott)Sat, 15 Nov 2014 22:57:34 +0000 Re: Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2010354,from=rss#post2010354https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2010354,from=rss#post2010354I've had just two statins prescribed for me, although currently I'm off of both as an experiment. I thought perhaps they'd created a tingling sensation in my feet, but after six months, the tingling is still there. (Tingling=Neuropathy). If my doctor recommends statins again, I'd still go with the more expensive statin—Lipitor. There are about six different statins available, but everybody tolerates them differently. My first medicationMevacor is "generic" now, and quite reasonably priced. (After taking Mevacor about 30 years!)  :omg: nondisclosed_email@example.com (Chipmunk Whisperer)Sun, 23 Mar 2014 21:02:44 +0000 Re: Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2010352,from=rss#post2010352https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2010352,from=rss#post2010352Well Thank You, It's been just over a year and feeling ok, now I feel my age- ugh! CW I cant handle the statins, they don't behave well with me.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (jscott)Sun, 23 Mar 2014 10:25:42 +0000 Re: Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008697,from=rss#post2008697https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008697,from=rss#post2008697JS - Thanks for reposting that poem. I remember when you posted it over at Wolfeboro Online years ago - it's a great work. And I often think of it when we're in town. I hope everything went well with the surgery on the 10th. I'm sending prayers your way for an easy recovery. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Balloonshopgirl)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 23:26:46 +0000 Re: Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008432,from=rss#post2008432https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008432,from=rss#post2008432I stumbled onto a postcard link to Lake Wentworth: Enjoy... http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Farchive.lwa.org%2Findex.php%3Fset_albumName%3DPostcards%26id%3Daed%26option%3Dcom_gallery%26Itemid%3D60%26include%3Dview_photo.php&sa&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEBeQsc2e4OpxgEmYZ-7rO9rPechgnondisclosed_email@example.com (Chipmunk Whisperer)Thu, 27 Dec 2012 06:08:33 +0000 Re: Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008431,from=rss#post2008431https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008431,from=rss#post2008431Thank goodness there's a procedure for your ailment—so this isn't totally bad news. (They found it while you were healthy enough to handle the surgery. It doesn't sound like you've been on any statins. I'm sure I've advocated statin prescriptions here. I've seen that essay before. Was it here, or at your blog?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Chipmunk Whisperer)Wed, 26 Dec 2012 13:53:06 +0000 Of Wood Smoke and Quiet Placeshttps://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008429,from=rss#post2008429https://bwolfeboro.runboard.com/p2008429,from=rss#post2008429Hi everyone, I was thinking of Lake Wentworth, this is something I wrote back in the early 70's while sitting on the porch of the Boulders at Point Breeze in the early 70's. I guess this has been on my mind for a while, ever since I was found to have stage 2 hypertention and soon going to have an angioplasty, and found my left artery 100% blocked and the right 69% blocked, Jan 10th 5am 2012 I go to the hospital, damn I hope they know what they are doing because I have no clue. Of Woodsmoke and Quiet Places Of Woodsmoke and Quiet Places Where the owl and the wolf haunt the silence of the night, the mouse and the chipmunk scurry for cover, the bullfrog sings in low key and the crickets play their tunes, a rabbit moves along the edge of field just under bush and thicket cover, grass green field of soon to be golden hay- Full moon sky, the forest shivers with darkness lit, by green, gray, and brown under a starry heaven. This is where I find myself drawn- To a peaceful place, where stream and pond become one, there, shall I be, when sadness and shadow try to overtake, for here and only here can I escape from the trials of man, with paddle silently, only the plip of water drops in the black of star shimmer glass. Not a church, as you might know, of timber, mortar, stone, those are of men- I seek a higher order and know all too well the power that has instilled in me, a fear, not of men, for we all truly answer to a higher order. And the drifting odor of fire smoke bristles through the air, pungent a nostalgic scent of fresh cut grass, a fish splash, the surface of pond, with paddle silently, only the plip of water drops in the black of star shimmer glass. A quiet place to reflect, only the noise of woods, field, water. Starry glass shimmer crystal lights in distant view, twinkling as the evening sky, man is there, lights traveling to and fro along waters edge, distant, no sound- A loon at dusk makes his call to his mate, who is not far, black bird white collar, red for eyes,a priestly figure with fire inside, wave taps at the side of the craft, as paddle pushes on- silently, only the plip of water drops in the black of star shimmer glass. The fire burning of sunset has been vanquished behind horizon and the cool of night dew has fallen, starry glass shimmer crystal lights in distant view, twinkling as the evening sky, along the waters edge, distant, no sound- Head to the darkness of the moon lit sky- white puff of cloud in mirror ahead- blip of fish wrinkles image and the push of paddle, only the plip of water drops in the black star shimmer glass. Onward into the night. of Woodsmoke and Quiet Places. JHS Posted: Mar 1998 written 1972nondisclosed_email@example.com (jscott)Wed, 19 Dec 2012 04:55:09 +0000
