It's too hot for soup. :) Walnut pesto does sound nice, though.

Unfortunately, I'm an hour and a half away from T'boro now... a mite far for basil, even a metric ton of the stuff. Maybe the farmer's market in town?

He says they had a good year with basil too. Usually it gets chewed up by the bugs but not this time. Could it be the hot dry Summer?

It's a really good year for tomato horn worms in Andover. Six plants, and I've picked off THIRTEEN of the things so far... in T-boro I never found more than one or two a year, and they were usually covered with little parasite cocoons, so I left them. No such luck here... the chickens like them, though. :batangel:
