Colorful, yes, ,I don't dare take a pic of the "extra" room (guest room, laundy room, whatever it is). . . and the walls in the "office" is a green called "Margerita" (granny smith green) above the wainscotting.
In my defense, 3/4 of the downstairs is paneled with pine boards milled from wood from the property when the house was built in 1939. They are 8" wide and have an inch wide OG shiplap, and are stained a very dark mahogony. It is dark and cool in the summer and cozy and dark in the winter downstairs, and very sunny and bright upstairs.

And you and I have the same stove! I'm extremely worried one day mine will go and I'll have to find a replacement because I don't know if anyone sells that size anymore.

I also like your magnetic knife rack. :)

That stove actually is new (or was in 2001)--it looks retro, doesn't it? The story -- I had wanted a 6 burner stove with an oven and 1/2, in a perfect world, so at the stove store I found one for something like $1800, but it was ugly (way to plastic looking) . . . then I saw this one, and it was $250 . . . . so, if I bought TWO little ones I'd have 8 burners and TWO ovens for $500, , , what a deal . . . but I have never gotten around to buying #2 and setting up the "cooking wall", at least not yet. True, it is very basic and doesn't have timers and lights and all those convienience bells and whistles, but it's better looking. IMHO.

The bells and whistles, lights, timers don't cook the food! That stove looks perfect for the intended job, don't have to be an engineer to figure out how to cook with it. !!
