Goose Corner reaches from Waumbec Rd to the Libby Museum. Back in the heydey, it boasted its own school, pub/tavern, stores and "Starlight Hall" where one and all gathered to sing, dance and generally congregate.

Legend has it that the ladies of Goose Corner used to let their geese run wild, aggravating the stuffing out of a certain cranky old Col Copp (who ran the tavern/Inn)rounded them all up and held them in his barn until the ladies paid ransom for them.

Or the gorier version, invited everyone to Dinner and [sign in to see URL].

And Thanks McDude, I did see Goose Quills. Someone beat me to it though. Hope they treasure it.

I have a copy of the "Goose Quills" My folks had a whole trunk full of old post cards and someone asked to borrow them and they never got them back. The people they loaned them to "didn't know what happened to them." I would so love to have them.

Could it be because the curves are like a goose neck? There is a corner in Farmington locally known as "Goose Neck Corner".

Edwards on Wentworth...


I do believe it is the barn that eventually became the Edwards restaurant. Here are some of the Edwards on Wentworth cabins...
