Re: Essential Books on Wolfeboro

ABE books, large as it appears, seems to always have the highest prices.

I found a hardcover reprint of an old family book detailing my ancestry (English side) for far less than a good original at ABE's.

(Depends on whether you "delve" or "shelve" it). emoticon

Maybe there are reprints around?

Re: Essential Books on Wolfeboro

Just in, via e-mail from a fellow Camp Wyanoke camper:

quote:

"...received from [a friend of his] a copy of Irving Vaughn's lengthy account of the 1938 hurricane in Wolfeboro, to be published in the next few issues. I remember some of this being read at campfires - should be interesting. Mentions the Johnson's Cove sawmill as I recall."

I've been "flashed" just one "start" page—and the effects on Wolfeboro from the 1938 Hurricane was a Doozy! (Judging from that one page...)

Right there is a good reason to subscribe to The Grunter. I hope someone can publish these accounts on Wolfeboro's oldest forum.
